  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Cath Lab nurse for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 3 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and CA License. ALL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE CERNER EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL EXPERIENCE.
    • Job Requirements
    • 3 full years of experience in a related field.
    • Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
    • Must hold an active California nursing license.
    • Candidates must have Cerner experience.
    • Travel experience is required.
    • No first-time travelers.
      • Schedule Information
      • Hours/Shifts: 4x10 hour shifts (or until cases are done) Start times vary, between 0630 & 0800.
      • Rotating call schedule includes 1 weekend per month and 1 day per week.
      • Call is for inpatient cases, emergent cases, etc.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab.
        • Number of cases per day varies from 10 - 22.
        • Types of cases include Cardiac/Coronary, Vascular, Peripheral, General IR, and Neuro intervention.
        • Travelers must be comfortable with conscience & moderate sedation, procedural processes, airway management, cardiac drips, and balloon pumps. Scrubbing not required.
        • Techs/Support Staff include 2 techs per case and occasionally a 4th person depending on the case.
        • Charge Nurse manages patients in the 'holding' room for pre/post procedures.
        • Not open on weekends, but has a rotating call schedule.
          • Additional Details
          • Basic EKG interpretation test assigned during orientation.
          • Critical care RNs will have additional curriculum tests such as in the STEMI curriculum and Procedural Sedation curriculum.
          • Scrub Color provided by the Hospital.
          • Floating is not expected.
