Engineer or Senior Traffic EngineerAs a Traffic Engineer or Senior
Traffic Engineer, you will support the execution and delivery of
traffic engineering projects for a diverse range of public,
private, and institutional clients in Southern California and
beyond. Your project work may encompass a variety of traffic
engineering design consisting of signal, signing-striping, worksite
traffic control/stage construction, as well as traffic impact
studies, traffic operational analysis, safety, parking studies,
signal timing, coordination, and other planning and operational
projects. Typical work deliverables include but are not limited to
traffic engineering plans, specifications and estimates,
feasibility, impact studies, technical memorandums, reports and
timing charts.Responsibility HighlightsYou will be responsible for
organizing and executing the technical quality and coordination of
a broad range of project assignments, requiring strong knowledge
and skills in transportation and traffic engineering. Your work may
include research and analysis, traffic operations and safety
studies, signage, striping, temporary traffic control/traffic
handling, active transportation projects, and lighting. You will
collaborate with team members and managers to provide all necessary
design, coordination, and follow-up work to ensure agency
requirements and quality standards are met. Additionally, you will
prepare traffic and lighting construction documents, compile
research, develop technical reports, calculations, cost and
quantity estimates, and specifications to provide clear, traceable,
and coordinated interpretation of the design and drawings for
construction. You will represent Psomas and our clients to agencies
and contractors, participate in site visits, client meetings, and
QA/QC, assist and lead efforts for agency approvals, and be
familiar with local regulatory requirements and procedures.
Furthermore, you will supervise, coach, train, and mentor technical
engineering staff, assign projects to engineers with timetables for
completion, and coordinate with them with a technical emphasis.
Periodically, you will also assist in marketing activities and
proposal generation.Minimum QualificationsTo qualify, you must have
a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with
at least 5 years of experience in engineering and design with a
focus on traffic engineering. You should be licensed/registered as
a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) and/or Traffic Engineer (TE) in
the State of California, and possess proven technical knowledge in
traffic engineering, with experience in preparing technical
reports, designs, specifications, and computations. Familiarity
with local design procedures, regulatory compliance, and agency
coordination, along with an understanding of scheduling, budgeting,
and scope of services, is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or
MicroStation is also necessary.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge in
