the qualifying exemption.The Los Angeles County Department of
Public Health, Division of Maternal, Child, & Adolescent Health is
seeking a Junior Program Analyst/Abundance Coach to join our
Abundant Birth Project (ABP) CA Expansion. The CA ABP is a pilot
program that will provide pregnant people with a monthly income
supplement during their pregnancy and post-natal periods. Led by
Expecting Justice, this program recognizes that racism has shut far
too many parents out of the resources they need for healthy births.

Abundance Care Team provides social support and resource
connections to the participants of Abundance Birth Project (ABP).
By providing referrals and service connections through partnership,
validation, and learning opportunities, the Abundance Care Team
helps ABP participants gain access to the tools they need for birth
and parenting.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Abundance Coach will:
- Provide case management to ABP participants, including
conducting assessments of the needs of new and continuing
participants and developing a case plan depending on the individual
needs of each participant who opts into coaching services.
- Support the ABP program application process, including
explaining program services and procedures to potential program
participants and other intake procedures.
- Keep accurate, up to date participant records.
- Maintain knowledge of community resources and collaborate with
other community agencies in connecting participants with needed
resources.
- Conduct follow-up with participants in the ABP program and case
management services.
- Attend regular meetings with Expecting Justice and the key
researcher team of the Abundant Birth Project, as well as Expecting
Justice's ABP workgroup.
- Implement other program activities as needed, including
administrative duties, and research support.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience
- 2 years of experience providing case management or other
supportive, wrap-around services, resource navigation, or
advocacy.
- 10 years of professional or lived experience interacting
closely with communities most impacted by birth disparity (such as
the African American/Black Community) moms with a deep love for
these communities.
- High school degree or equivalent.Preferred Requirements
- 2 years of professional-level experience in case management
with pregnant Black women/birthing people, who experience the
highest rates of infant and maternal mortality/premature births in
the County.
- Experience in community engagement.
- Knowledge (personal or professional) of LA County resources and
benefits program.
- Strong interpersonal, organization, and communication
skills.
- Passion for supporting women/pregnant people who experience the
highest rates of infant and maternal mortality/premature births in
the County.Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
- A valid California driver's license, proof of vehicle
insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to utilize an
alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out
job-related essential functions.
- Successful clearance of LA County Live Scan required.Other

- Ability to provide respectful case management services to
clients in a social service setting.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with ABP participants and a wide range of partners
and systems.
- Professional and/or personal experience navigating reproductive
health services in Los Angeles County.
- Strong Interest, Experience, Knowledge, and/or Expertise in:
- Addressing the social determinants of health and health
disparities.
- Maternal, child and adolescent health.
- Policy and/or Systems Change.
- Community organizations and organizing.
- Good written, oral and listening skills.
- Collaborative, proactive, and self-starting capabilities.
