Job Description:
The UCLA Department of History invites applications for a
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in early
modern western European history, 1500-1800. The department welcomes
candidates considering any theme or methodological approach within
these geographical and chronological parameters, and it
particularly values conceptually innovative research. All
candidates must have completed their PhD in history or related
field by May 30, 2025. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2025.

thereafter. The department welcomes candidates whose experience in
teaching or research has prepared them to contribute to our

The on-scale salary range for this position is between
$78,200-$101,400. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay,
i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary
at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet
competitive conditions.
